A few things I noticed around the net

Here’s a great idea if ever I’ve heard one:
The student government at the University of Wisconsin-Madison said on Wednesday that black students should be offered free tuition and housing because blacks were legally barred from education during slavery and university remains out of reach for black students today.
The Associated Students of Madison said in a resolution that suburban high school students are over-represented. The group said consideration of ACT and SAT scores in applications upholds “white supremacy” because it restricts opportunities for the poor.
The college has proposed measures aimed at improving diversity.
“The university’s rhetoric suggests that it is committed to diversity and inclusion, so this legislation compels the university to move towards action — which is imperative,” the resolution’s author, ASM Student Council Rep. Tyriek Mack, said in a statement. “If no one challenges the university’s empty promises, then the racial composition will remain stagnant.”
The resolution demands free tuition, free housing and no fees for all black people, including former inmates.
A very well thought out idea (/sarc) with all the racial buzzwords and concepts in their proper place.  Word is that half of Africa is all for this resolution.  I say go for it.
Mexican presidential hopeful Andres Manuel López Obrador held a mass rally in Los Angeles on Sunday to criticize American President Donald J. Trump’s plans to build a wall across the U.S.-Mexico border.
The populist López Obrador hoped to rally supporters against his country’s ruling party, the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), and to capitalize on resentment over Trump’s border wall proposal, wire service Reuters reported.
“I think the wall and the demagoguery of patriotism are no match for the dignity and humanity of the American people,” López Obrador said during his rally.
The Mexican politician went on to praise California as “a refuge and blessing for immigrants,” and exclaimed “long live California,” to the cheers of the crowd.
Wonder if the targets of his visit will be voting absentee.  I mean, they’ve already voted here, I’m sure they’re interested in voting in their home country as well.  Add to this the threat of California seceding. Anyone want to bet how long they’d remain a separate sovereign nation?
How does one out Alinsky followers of Alinsky?  Make ’em live up to their own rules:
Students at the University of California, San Diego are protesting an upcoming visit by the Dalai Lama – claiming the Tibetan leader is “oppressive”.
Chinese students are leading objections to the event, which will see the Dalai Lama give a commencement speech on graduation day.
They have claimed that his presence is offensive because of his campaign to make Tibet more independent – contrary to the Communist government’s position that Tibet is a region of China under their control.
Arguments over Tibetan independence have raged for decades – but this dispute is remarkable because activists are conducting it through the language of social justice.
As noted by Quartz, the Chinese student association framed their complaints as an example of cultural oppression and a problem of equality.
A statement accused university leaders of having “contravened the spirit of respect, tolerance, equality, and earnestness—the ethos upon which the university is built.”
One student posting on Facebook said: “So you guys protest against Trump because he disrespects Muslims, blacks, Hispanics, LGBT.., but invites this oppresser [sic] to make a public speech?? The hypocrisy is appalling!”
If he is offensive to some, then he must be “disinvited” (or so it seems the unwritten but well understood rule of the SJW’s goes).  Hilarious.  You have to be awed by the chutzpa of the Chicom students trying to make the university support the Communist Chinese line on the Dalai Lama – a man without a country and very little power.  Let’s watch and see how UC San Diego handles this.  Any bets?
It always does their credibility justice when eco-warriors end up trashing a place they were supposedly trying to save.  Besides mountains of trash and human waste, they abandoned a few other items:
Dakota Access Pipeline protesters who caused an environmental catastrophe at the Oceti Sakowin protest site left more than heaps of human waste, garbage, and petroleum-leaking vehicles. They also abandoned poor, defenseless puppies.
A total of two dogs and six puppies were found abandoned at the site and rescued by local nonprofit Furry Friends Rockin’ Rescue, local news reported on Saturday.
The dogs were reported to be mangy and suffering from frostbite to their ears.
Well done NODPL.  Well done.  I’m sure eco-warriors everywhere are proud of you.
Just a few of the things I found “interesting” and, unfortunately, typical.  More in the future.
