We're back at our regular site

Seems the DDOS rat got tired of trying, and failing, to shut us down and left.   See you back at QandO!

Cuban refugees and race relations have one thing in common

As a parting shot to Hispanics - at least those fleeing totalitarian Cuba - our man Obama has ended the "feet we, feet dry" special refugee status for them.  Because, for some reason, the left seems to enjoy cozying up to dictators and giving them a hand.  As one Cuban refugee said, while in a shelter in Central America, "Obama screwed us!".

Well, America has been screwed by Obama for 8 years.  You should feel glad you finally got it with only a week to go in his term.  Talk about a useless but extraordinarily mean spirited thing to do ... well, this fits that bill.  Oh, by the way, Cubans have more of a tendency to vote on the right, so hey, why not, huh Mr. Obama?

Speaking of being screwed by Barry, here's a graphic that demonstrates another wonderful job he's done:

Heck of a job, Barry. (HT Instapundit)

Are you a "sizest, ableist or white supremacist?"  You might be if you use the word "ugly".  So say the rocket scientists at University of Wisconsin - River Falls.  They find it to be "offensive":
Ugly
Why not: Word is used to put down someone for the way they look, can be connected back to white supremacist, ableist, sizeist standards of beauty.
Dude, an ugly day is an ugly day.  Same with an ugly dog.  The "why not" assumes that the word can only be used in the strict and limited sense these boobs outline and, of course any educated person (isn't that what they're there to become?) knows that.  So, no. Rejected. And you can stick it in your  ugly ear.

Why are the Democrats beating the "Russians did it" drum?  John Lewis makes it clear:
"I don't see the president-elect as a legitimate president," he said.

Elaborating, Lewis said: "I think the Russians participated in helping this man get elected. And they helped destroy the candidacy of Hillary Clinton.
This is GW Bush redux.  You remember "selected, not elected"?  It allowed the Democrats to act like rude, uncooperative and spoiled children for 8 years.  Well, not that they've cleaned up their act any, but they're back.  Trust me, you're going to hear this more and more as the weeks go by.

Have a good one!

How long will Mattis remain SecDef?

I watched most of the Mattis confirmation hearing today and as I expected, I was impressed with his testimony.  But not necessarily for his answers about defense, foreign policy or DoD policy on LGBTQ stuff.  You can read about that stuff here.

Nope.  I was impressed with his quiet dignity and confidence.  I was impressed with his erudition and knowledge of the military and history.  He's a warrior/scholar.  Having been to war, he's also a reluctant warrior, and that's good.  Most of all though, I was impressed with his integrity.

One of the reasons Gen. Mattis was a civilian is because he stood up to the powers to be in the Obama administration one too many times concerning their various policies and orders.  He was "troublesome" in that regard.  He will stand up and be counted whether or not you like what he has to say or not.

I don't expect anything less of him in a Trump administration.  That means it could go two ways.  One, he could be the SecDef for Trump's full term, if Trump has the wisdom to listen to him.  Because James Mattis is going to tell him, in no uncertain terms what he thinks of a pending policy or decision.  He could become one of the most important cabinet members in the Trump administration. Or he could be gone in a few months.

It all depends on Trump.

Who knew the Russians were so forward looking?

Well it's those Russians again.  The latest is that Trump was identified about 5 years ago by those wily folks and groomed to be President of the United States, because, you know, he was so likely to be the party's candidate in 2016 (flying pigs likely).  And on the word of an alleged retired or former MI6 type, who might have been gaslighting his employer for a fairly hefty paycheck knowing full well they couldn't check any of his stuff, we're now involved in "pissgate".

Here, you can read the full "dossier" yourself.

This has been floating around since 2015 and no one, not a single intel agency or journalist, has been able to verify a single thing.  Nothing.  Yet here it is, because?
U.S. officials have confirmed that a summary of the information had been given to Mr. Trump. They said sharing of such unverified information was taken out of an abundance of caution that the incoming president should be aware of allegations being made against him that could become public—a decision intelligence experts backed.
Riiiiight.  Why not attach a copy of the National Enquirer and say, "hey, this is out there"?

What it did was give the green light to fake news outlets like Buzz Feed who quickly took the cue and published the unverified allegations.  Of course along with a word salad disclaimer that says "this is really BS, but here it is".

Oh, and how did this even become "news", you ask?  Well, pretty simple really:
The former official who compiled the dossier works for a private investigations company and was hired by both Republican and Democratic opponents of Mr. Trump to investigate him, according to one official close to the matter.
I read somewhere where this person received somewhere just short of a half million dollars.  Gee, I wonder if he felt compelled to "produce"?

Look, I have nothing particularly good to say about Donald Trump nor did I vote for him.  But a fairly close look at this gives one the feeling that they're looking at the outline to a fairly bad fiction spy novel ... at best.  Frankly, it seems to be trash.  And despite the burning desire of any number of journalists to be able to report this "bombshell" they haven't been able to verify any of it in all that time.

But that wasn't the point of the release, was it?  Much as was done to Clarence Thomas, this is more of a high-tech lynching attempt than any attempt to get the "truth" out there.

I am so tired of this sort of crap.

Someone tell Hollywood that no one really cares what they think

And the DDOS attack continues.

Speaking of attacks, I understand the usual spoiled children of Hollywood used the occasion of the self-congratulatory Golden Globe Awards to launch attacks on Donald Trump.

Here's my shocked face.  Heh ... business as usual for the entitled Hollywood crowd.  I'm old enough to remember when they had something others called "class".  No more.

I especially loved this bit by Viola Davis - "[T]here is no way that we can have someone in office who is not an extension of our belief system. So what does that say about us?"

Well Ms. Davis, what it says is that's the system that has made us great and doesn't depend on just your set of "beliefs".  You'll now have to suffer with someone in office that is not an "extension of your belief system" just as about half the country has suffered through that very problem for the last 8 years.  And some of us, by the way, suffer through it almost every presidential election.

Get over it.

Meanwhile, in the real world and reminiscent of the Munich Agreement, the outgoing Obama Administration approves a huge shipment of uranium to Iran:

In what amounts to an 11th hour “gift” by the outgoing Obama administration to Tehran’s leadership to keep the country, which on Sunday was involved in yet another shooting incident with a US destroyer, content and compliant with Obama’s landmark “Nuclear deal”, the AP reported that Iran is to receive a huge shipment of natural uranium from Russia to compensate it for exporting tons of reactor coolant. The move was approved by the outgoing U.S. administration and other governments “seeking to keep Tehran committed to a landmark nuclear pact.”
AP cites two senior diplomats who said that the transfer which was recently agreed by the U.S. and five other world powers that negotiated the nuclear deal with Iran, foresees delivery of 116 metric tons (nearly 130 tons) of natural uranium. U.N. Security Council approval is needed but a formality, considering five of those powers are permanent Security Council members, they said.
But, but, but ... Obama was the anti-nuclear proliferation president wasn't he?  And let's not mention the 10 billion in cash, gold and other valuables that was released to Iran in this "deal".  Enough that:
Iranian lawmakers approved plans on Monday to expand military spending to five percent of the budget, including developing the country's long-range missile program which U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has pledged to halt.
The vote is a boost to Iran's military establishment – the regular army, the elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and defense ministry - which was allocated almost 2 percent of the 2015-16 budget.
Imagine that.  Wonder where they got the money? Wonder why our ships are having to fire warning shots at them in the Gulf?
Then there's this:

Ms. Byerley is allegedly the CEO of a San Francisco company.  What does one say to ignorance like this?  Perhaps the best thing to do is to ask Ms. Byerley if she's walked the streets in San Francisco lately and seen how they've been turned into toilets.  Or visited Chicago and Detroit lately?
Yeah, you see, the true sh*tholes, made that way by blue governance, aren't in flyover land.  They're in major urban areas where folks like Ms. Byerley have held sway. They're in the land of the bigoted left, who assume everyone who doesn't think like them must be "violent, racist and/or misogynistic".
Ironic, huh?

So we'll just hang out here a while

While this DDOS attack continues you can look for QandO updates right here.  We've been the victim of this DDOS attack for 2 weeks now and it doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.  When whoever it is tires of playing that game for whatever reason, we'll return to our site.
